Waco updates!

Hi friends! It has been too long since I have updated about life. Hooray for my new official PT friends. Hopefully, I'll be joining you this Friday. Prayers are needed!

Updates:
-we are 90% nested: having a World Cup finals party (for our 4 new friends) was a great motivator to get all the goods we needed around the condo. see pics!

-We got a dog! Lady is our newest friend. She is a Tibetan terrier/poodle mix...a toodle. She is a friendly 2 year young dog and only about 20 lbs although she looks like a giant sheep in most pictures. If you come visit her she will want you to give her lots of back scratchies. She says hi.

Haylee and Kendall

Last Wednesday on my day off... I kept Haylee and Kendall while Amy went to see Amber at the hospital.

UPDATE: Aden and Adelynn were moved out of NICU yesterday at 2 weeks old!

They finally got to "meet" each other when they were placed in the same crib!

I had so much fun with these two sweet girls! They were both so good! We played on Haylee's bed and sang "Old McDonnald Had A Farm" with every animal I could think of while Amy slipped out :-) No tears!

Kendall is 3 months old!

Whatever Kendall was doing... Haylee wanted to be just like her! She would mimic her sounds and get into whatever position she was in! It was too cute!

Flea Market

I threw a baby shower for my best friend, Sarah, who is due on July 28th! She's going with a midwife and no epidural/meds! PRAY for her! :) I'm so excited to be an aunt for the 3rd time :D I posted an album on fb of the shower pics, but here's one with a dress that Sarah's mom crocheted for AnnaLynn!!! Thanks Morgan for all the cute decor!

Since my last post, we did our 4th of July visit to north LA and I posted an album on FB, but here are a few shots to sum it up. We ate and played like kings and the best part to me was homemade ice cream in the summer sun by the lake.

Then last weekend Tim and I went down to Lake Charles for Aubrey's 2nd birthday, I also posted an album on FB of that fun time, but here are a few of my faves. It was a great time with family!

On our way home from Lake Charles, we were driving north east of Houston on Hwy 105, near "Cut and Shoot, Texas", and passed by a flea market, so of course we turned around and spent about 2 hours having a great time and finding wonderful deals while sweating immensely. We left the flea market after these purchases: a fancy camera tripod that was regularly $70 that I got for $10 in perfect condition; a set of antique keys for $1; utility pole lights for a workshop normally $50 for $8. We passed up lots of other good deals including a 2002 Honda Sportrax 250 EX four wheeler for $400!!! They're about $3,000 brand new. It's a racing 4 wheeler, can ge up to about 60 mph and is loud like a motorcycle. It was definitely not in great looking condition and had been used alot, but the engine ran like a champ. We ended up leaving without it and getting about 15 minutes down the road and thinking twice about leaving. Ruthie has been wanting a 4 wheeler forever (Laura, please still be my friends after reading this). We decided to call her and see if she'd be willing to pitch in half so that she's invested and we'd pay the other half as an early Christmas present. Of course she freaked out and agreed. So we drove back, Tim haggled with the really nice Hispanic man, got it for $380. We took the tires off and lifted it into the highlander, yes you read that right. So we had to drive home with the back hatch open lol! Redneck and lovin' it! Of course Tim has been playing with it ever since. The neighbors love it, I'm sure. Four wheelers were such a big part of his childhood, so he is thrilled. We have lots of safety speeces prepared, I'm giving her my awesome motorcycle helmet, and she has to ride the first 500 miles with adult supervision and sign a safety contract. It's going to be Ruthie and dad's project ot make it look pretty. It runs great, just needs some aesthetic attention. I'm thinking a camo covering would be nice ;).

Moving on to other stories, I really wanted to take lots of photos of the people at the Flea Market because I just love southern people and happenings. I asked most people permission before taking shots of them, however at one table that had automatic weapons, grenades, ammo, etc, I decided to be dumb and take a shot of that table. The guy behind the table (wearing camo with a shaved head) looked at me real mean and said, "Did you just take my picture?". I said "Yes, but I can delete it". He said, "Do you have your ID on you". Me: "No I sure don't." Him: "Well I have mine" and proceeds to pull out his police badge. He told me that if I took his picture he had the right to ID me and he went on to question me on why I took it, etc. Tim was by my side in a jiffy lol and we explained that I was just capturing life in America for personal purposes. he just wanted to make sure the photo didn't get on the internet, which we were a little confused by because it almost seemed funny that he was so concerned about being seen doing what he was doing. Anyway, I won't post that photo, but I may email it :)

The Last Month

So here is a quick run down of the last month...

Maggie and Jimmy got married and had a beautiful wedding!

I studied... A LOT...
Rachel and I took a study break and went and saw Toy Story 3!

I took the National Physical Therapy Exam on June 22nd and my sweet friends sent me this for good luck! Little doctor bears! So cute!

When I found out I passed... we celebrated at Maggiano's for a fun dinner!

Melisa and Matt were in town! (Matt was a lucky boy to have dinner with all us girls!)

Shortly after, Tucker and I moved to an apartment in Fort Worth (pictures to come when I finish decorating!) We are adjusting well to our home! Tucker is LOVING meeting all of his canine neighbors!

Monday July 5th, I started orientation at Cook Children's and became an official working woman! I started at the clinic last Wednesday and got to meet my co-workers and start getting oriented. I will have a mentor for the next 3 months which I am really excited about as I get back accustomed to the clinic setting. One of the things I am most excited about is this computer/table thing they have with lots of fun kids games. Pretty sure I am going to incorporate this into treatment as much as possible! I could play with it all day :-)

Well... that about does it! I will hopefully be better at blogging as I go now that I am settled in!
