I'm going to try to update 2-3 times per week, so sorry if I blow the other girls out of the water. Last week at the APTA I may have had the best week ever. (think VH1 voice over). I went to some meetings on up and coming websites that sound FANTASTIC! If they do it like they are talking about now, everything you ever wanted to know about PT and research will be on one website. Yay! I'm glad that they are doing things that members would want (or future members like Laura). It was also interesting being in a meeting with 2 PTs and 15 web/tech/marketing people. The PTs dominated, but the meeting was so well run it was like I was in a dream.
They asked me questions like, "Maggie, you can give a student perspective." No pressure, right? So, I've been videotaped. It is going to be watched by the section leaders at CSM, and then possibly at meetings after that. Hoping I'm not featured more than once...words words words.
I've decided I don't want to work in a clinic where things go down like this:
Maggie: "So, tell me about your problem, why are you here today?"
Patient: "Well, you see, I was snow shoveling my driveway and..."
I talked to Jimmy about this, and he says we can work that out.
We went to the capitol on Saturday! It was so exciting! Who loves tours? Who loves making exciting noises when she learns a new fact? THIS GIRL! I also felt very snotty when our tour guide kept referring to "the great state of Florida" and Jimmy and I exchanged a glance like "who does this guy think he is?" ::insert eye rolling:: I'm on the search for the perfect souvenir for family and friends. Be glad that I skipped over the inaugural scarf and glass beer stein with the constitution written on it. Like I could afford either of those anyways.
Sorry about the no pics in this post. Special post for pictures later! Peace.
