holiday wrap up

Well! What a blog-venture we're about to go on. Getting butterflies thinking about the fun and challenges ahead!

Holiday wrap up:
  • Engagement photos taken again (get over ourselves, right?) in Austin by Alyssa Pena-Sheffield from Dandy As Lions PhotosGo here to see the rest of the pictures
use code inlove12610

She did a great job, and is super sweet. I think we'll have some great shots from the wedding. Alyssa's photography got featured on another blog (pictured in love) with, you guessed it, our engagement shots.
  • Visited the grandparents in New Braunfels for some dominos and good conversation
  • Christmas in Fulshear with Jimmy's family including a fun day out in Houston. We toured Minute Maid Park and Jimmy lived out baseball fantasies (see dugout picture below). My Christmas present from Jimmy included tickets to the ballet, The Nutcracker to be exact. Loved it! We both thought the dancers' tights showed off awesome quad muscles, even from the balcony.
  • Christmas celebrations with the Abbott, Chisholm, and extended families

  • Rang in the New Year with my Grandmother in San Antonio. Quick surgery was successful to remove cancerous organs and more. I was glad to have the opportunity to be there for her. God provided. She is moving back home to recover in a nursing home environment, and be close to my grandfather. Many prayers were felt.
This brings us to the now! My desk is piled high with to do lists and books to read. Bought my ticket for DC today, and I'm leaving on Tuesday. I'm super excited to keep chugging along! Probably going to see a few movies, read some more books, and play with my 2010 planner before the internship starts. Found out that there are no parking spaces at the APTA, so I'll be getting my steps in, as well as getting friendly with the blue line metro. Can't wait!

The thing I will miss most of all? Watching and making fun of The Bachelor with y'all. Must incorporate the silliness here.

Things you should know about future posts: this one took me about an hour, so I hope they get more efficient. I don't know the ins and outs of grammar rules, and am likely to have run on sentences with comma splices to break them up (see current sentence). Don't judge, haha.
